PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are in stable condition at the hospital after being shot during a robbery in North Philadelphia overnight.

Police say a 37-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were shot while gathered with a group of people in the Logan neighborhood at about 2 a.m.

"Both shooting victims were with about four other friends," said, Chief Inspector Scott Small. "They were just hanging out on the steps at 11th and Olney, when a male walked up and announced a robbery."

Small says the victims tried to run and were shot in the back. Both were taken to Einstein and listed in stable condition.

"We didn't find any shell casings, so we believe a revolver was used," Small said.

After the shooting, the gunman ran about a block, stole someone's bike at gunpoint and rode away.

Police are asking for help in tracking him down. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
