PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- An anti-Trump administration rally took place at Independence Mall, Saturday afternoon, in an effort to build momentum after the midterm elections.

Several dozen protesters turned out in a post-election rally here on Independence Mall to express their opposition to the Trump/Pence administration.

"We are a nationwide movement," said Sam Goldman with "In about 13 cities people are taking to the streets (today) to say that even with a Democratic House it's up to us to stop a fascist USA."

Participants were given free rein to speak.

"Fascism isn't something that's announced, nor will it be contained within a vote," said Bob Smith of the Brandywine Peace Community. "It is something that grows."

Kayuki Chen, with Refuse Fascism, says it's significant that Republicans picked up several Senate seats on Tuesday.

"They've said this all along the Republicans want to put as many (conservative) judges on the bench, (as they can) and now they have the ability to do that," Chen said.
