PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating after gunfire in the Haddington section of the city leaves three boys hospitalized.

Authorities say the victims, an 8-year old boy and two teenagers, were shot just before 8 p.m. on Ludlow Street, about a block away from SEPTA's 60th Street station.

Here's how Police commissioner Richard Ross says it all went down.

"At least one male chased two individuals, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old down the street, westbound on Ludlow and into a breezeway and they (the suspects) continued to fire at him," he explained.

One of those bullets, Ross says, went through a home.

"Striking the 8-year-old in the face," he said.

All three victims are now listed in stable condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police don't know at this time what sparked the violence.

Authorities say they are still investigating the scene, but a weapon has yet to be recovered and no arrests have been made.
