Two hit-and-run accidents in Philly leave one dead, one seriously injured

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) —  Philadelphia Police are investigating two seperate hit-and-run incidents that took place Friday night and early Saturday morning. 

The first crash left one man dead. 

Police say it happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Hancock Street and Lehigh Avenure in Kensington. A 61-year-old man was hit by a car that left the scene. He died about an hour later at Temple University Hospital. 

Second hit-and-Run 

Police are searching for the driver of a red car who left the scene of a hit-and-run accident in Juniata Park around 2 a.m.

Police say a man in his late 30's was hit near the intersection of East Wyoming Avenue and Reach Street.

That victim was also taken to Temple University Hospital where he's listed in serious condition. 

The car which may be an Acura, likely has heavy front end damage, and dark tint on the windows. 

It was last seen driving away from the crash on East Wyoming Avenue.
