PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A local art gallery is holding an art benefit to help kick off Phase 2 of the Rail Park project.

The Bridgette Mayer Gallery has partnered with Arts & Crafts Holdings for its seventh benefit art exhibition, which supports Friends of the Rail Park, the nonprofit organization transforming unused highline railway tracks into vibrant public spaces in Philadelphia.

"We have an art exhibition at 990 Spring Garden St.," said Mayer. "It's up through Oct. 5. The lobby is open here Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m."

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from art purchased at the exhibit will go toward the park.

"We have 301 artworks available for sale by very well-known Philadelphia and nationally known artists," she said.
