PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Primetime TV has expanded its viewing selections for users.

Comcast is adding Amazon Prime Video's subscription service to its cable platform.

Comcast customers who pay for Amazon Prime will be able to watch series like the upcoming "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" or "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and the rest of its video offerings without leaving their cable box.

Come later this year, Prime Video will be an app on the Xfinity X1 service, with the entire library searchable by voice remote.

Amazon joins Netflix alongside the Philadelphia media giant's traditional lineup. The premium services are looking to squeeze some new signups out of this proximity to people who haven't cut the cord and who have yet to be enticed to fork over more money for more content.

For Comcast, it's a play to keep its own subscribers close — even when they're leaning toward streaming.
