CORAL GABLES, FL. (KYW Newsradio) -- Del Monte is recalling freshcut vegetable trays over concerns they may be linked to a parasite that has sickened dozens of people in several states.

The Food and Drug Administration say it's is investigating at least 78 cases of cyclospora illnesses linked to the recalled veggie trays, which contained broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and dill dip, and were sold in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

In addition, Del Monte is recalling small vegetable trays that include broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery and dill dip distributed to Illinois and Indiana, the FDA said in a statement.

"On June 8, 2018, Del Monte withdrew their 6oz and 12oz vegetable trays from retail market locations, and they are not currently available for purchase," the statement read. "However, consumers who purchased these trays before the withdrawal may still have product in their homes since the expiration date is June 17, 2018 or earlier."

Cyclospora cayetanensis is a microscopic parasite that contaminates food or water, and when ingested, causes an intestinal illness. Symptoms include diarrhea, with sometimes explosive bowel movements, loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps, bloating, nausea and fatigue.

The recalled products were distributed for sale in clear plastic containers with the following labels and markings:
