PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A family of five, three of them children, were found shot to death in a home in New Castle County, Delaware, on Monday night.

Delaware State Police say autopsies will be performed on the bodies of the five who were found.

The center of this investigation is a home on Ferris Road, just off Route 141 in Prices Corner, a community by Wilmington.

At around 8 p.m., state troopers discovered the bodies upstairs. Police said all appeared to have been shot.

Police have identified the victims. Troopers say 42-year-old Matthew Edwards shot his wife, 41-year-old Julie Edwards, and their 3 children: a 6-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. Then, he turned the gun on himself.

Police are looking for information from those who may have any. But one thing police want to make clear is that the public is not in danger.
