PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This week on Flashpoint: Host and KYW Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg asks the burning questions about the 2019 general election that few are talking about.  The turnout isn't expected to be impressive since most of the political races in Philadelphia are all but decided because of one-party politics. However, money has been pouring into independents running for city council at large seats.

Also, history could be made in the counties surrounding Philadelphia. All eyes are on the Delaware County council race where Democrats have a real shot at gaining a majority for the first time. Jasmine Sessoms, founder of She Can Win, joins David Thornburgh, President and CEO of Committee of Seventy and Nick Field, a journalist covering politics and culture.

Then in a two-part newsmaker of the week interview, Michael White speaks out for the first time. White was acquitted of all charges except evidence tampering in connection with the Rittenhouse stabbing that resulted in the death of real estate investor Sean Schellenger. White, who is now 22, did not speak publicly about his case for 15 months. He joins his attorney, Keir Bradford-Grey, chief of the Defender Association of Philadelphia, to tell the world who he is and how he is coping with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The podcast also includes comments from Mark Schellenger, the father of Sean Schellenger.
