PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- This week on Flashpoint: Host and KYW Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg asks the burning questions about Philadelphia's one party political system. With the Pennsylvania primary over, the general election is all but decided in most of the city's races since the Republican party rarely puts up a viable challenger. But what is the impact when Democrats are the only option? The May primary proved that shake up is possible, with the 3rd District City Council, Register of Wills and Sheriff's races offering proof that real competition is possible. Are those results a harbinger of what's to come? Alison Perelman of Philadelphia 3.0 joins Mustafa Rashed, CEO of Bellevue Strategies and Terry Madonna, political pollster from Franklin and Marshall College for this hot discussion.

The newsmaker of the week is Adrianna Branin, a recent recipient of the Joe Biden Courage Award, which recognizes student heroes tackling sexual assault. The South Philadelphia native is a rising senior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania who intervened when another young woman was being sexually assaulted at an off campus party.

The changemaker of the week is the Philadelphia Ramadan and Eid Fund, which will host its inaugural Eid in the Park. The event hopes to bridge the gap between communities and celebrate the Muslim holiday with prayer and festivities. It will take place on June 3 or 4 depending on the Moon sighting marking the end of the month of Ramadan. All are welcome. Founder Salima Suswell discusses event, which includes partnership with eight area Masjids, the Please Touch Museum and others. More Details:
