PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- This week on Flashpoint: Host and KYW Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg asks the burning questions about student loan debt. Forty four million Americans collectively owe an estimated $1.5 trillion in student loans. Millions are drowning because of high interest rates with major impact on the economy. Gen-Xers and millennials are hit hard, with many postponing home buying, opening businesses, even getting married to take on the debt.  So, what are the solutions? Can laws be passed to provide relief? We walk through the flames with Celeste Hernandez Revelli, of eMoney Advisor, Sonia Lewis, founder of The Student Loan Doctor, Janet Edgette, a Psychologist for children and Pennsylvania Sen. Vincent Hughes.

The Changemaker of the week is the Paul Robeson House. Run by the West Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, executive Director Vernoca Michael is on a mission to pay off the mortgage of the West Philadelphia home of her "Uncle Paul." Robeson was a civil rights leader, activist, singer and athlete who was blackballed during the McCarthy Era. He spent the later part of his life living in Philadelphia.
