PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Halloween evokes images of happy youngsters toting plastic pumpkins to hold heaps of treats.

But for an older generation, it's more about the memories, so now is the time for a Halloween overnight getaway.

Halloween used to be a night of family fun when the kids were younger. Mary would take our costumed daughter trick or treating around the neighborhood. Dracula dad would hand out the goodies to the neighbors’ kids.

Guests party in costume on Halloween night. Don't have a costume? Walk a few blocks to Love Saves the Day, a shop where things from the past meet the present.

Owner Stacia Kauriga displays vintage garb for sale — plus local theater.
