PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- The next few weekends may offer the last chance to visit what has been a traditional weekend day trip. The doors are closing on Zern's Market in Gilbertsville.

How do you say you'll miss a tire busting parking lot and a crumbling, ugly concrete building that was packed with Friday night and Saturday bargain hunters?

Zerns was the place you found your childhood toys that mom and dad threw out when you moved out. Barring a major miracle, the 92-year-old market will go dark at the end of the month. To many regulars, it's more than a shopping trip.

"It's a ritual."

That country drive will soon become another trip down memory lane. The voice of the auctioneer will be still. The Pennsylvania Dutch meats will vanish and the colorful barber shop tales will be fading echoes.

The closest spot to browse those gems of the past will then be the Perkiomenville Auction, but only on Mondays.

Rice's Market near New Hope is still thriving.

And in New Jersey, the Cowtown Farmers Market.
