PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Hopefully April showers give way to May flowers when it's a good time to beat the crowds to Pennsylvania mountain getaways.

Ski areas have seen the last of winter snow. Now it's time for warmer weather fun, like festivals and events to transition from winter to summer. Set a course for Shawnee Mountain and a Celtic Festival of music, food, dance and drink. Shawnee's Jim Tust sees a wee bit of similarity between the highlands and the Poconos.

"It really does kind of mimic the Scottish Highland and the Irish green fields," Tust said.

The dates are May 26 and 27.

Every Sunday night in May, Jazz is King at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in nearby Berks County.

Or head for Blue Mountain and a Mothers Day champagne brunch with a view on May 13.

And for springtime high flying adventure, carve a path to nearby Spring Mountain or Camelback in the Poconos for a zipline rush over the slopes.
