PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The holiday season is upon us.

With the arrival of Thanksgiving, many of us are hurling full force into a world of food temptations of all kinds. Hospitals, for example, can be a chocolate lover's delight as grateful patients leave tasty treats behind either as a thankful gesture or a holiday present for staff.

Add to this the holiday parties and friendly gatherings, and even the person with the best intentions can add numerous extra calories.

Moderation is important, and it takes incredible self-control to avoid all of these temptations, but allowing an occasional treat can keep things under control during the holidays.
