PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There has been a great deal of attention about vaping lately, but it's important to know some of the facts when you are concerned about the dangers.

One in five high school students have used e-cigarettes within the past month, and a critical point is that one pod may contain as much nicotine as 20 regular cigarettes.

Nicotine can harm parts of the developing teen brain — parts linked to learning attention and mood.

Flavorings that are included in some e-cigarettes are linked to lung disease and can include heavy metals such as lead, tin and nickel.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has become more and more vocal with warnings about these dangers.
