PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — "French kiss, a love letter to Paris" is a photography exhibit at the Sofitel Hotel at 17th and Samson streets in Center City.

The photographer is a woman who has spent the last 35 years promoting Philadelphia.

"To me, Philadelphia is a smaller version of Paris. It's got everything that Paris has, except the Eiffel Tower. It has culture, great food, waterways, bridges but on a smaller, walkable scale. You can walk from river to river and take it all in," said Janice Telstar, assistant director of convention services.

She says a lot of Philadelphia is modeled after Paris.

"The Ben Franklin Parkway was modeled after the Champs-Élysées. According to history, men and women came back from the war and had seen all these grand European boulevards lined with flags and trees and they wanted to emulate that in Philadelphia," she explained.

Philadelphian Vicki Lupica says the photographs are very real.

"When I look at these photographs it reminds me of when I was there. Each of these unique locations. Standing at the bridge looking at the Seine, looking up at the Eiffel tower. It's as if I am there again," Lupica said.

The exhibit is in the lobby and is free of charge.
