PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- There are some events that are just so much fun made even better because all the proceeds from the evening go to help others, like the annual Bourbon Bash!

Dan Rivas is general manager of Bank and Bourbon Restaurant at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia.

"It's our annual fundraiser. We are just looking to raise money for school supplies for some local schools,” he explained. “It's an event for three hours on April 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., there’s passed hors d'oeuvres, passed cocktails, wine, champagne. Then we have action stations featuring many of our signature dishes along with some bourbon pairings to go along with those dishes."

Like what?

"This year something new,” said head chef Joe Thomas. “We are going to do a whole roasted porchetta. Also east and west coast oysters, we have Spanish octopus, also new this year, a 32 ounce cowboy ribeye steak which is aged for 28 days, honey brined pork chop and we do a whole roasted salmon."

Donations come in from all over. There are raffles of rare bottles of bourbon, a silent auction, giveaways and getaways.

Tickets are $69 and all the proceeds benefit Donors Choose.
