PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- In the age of #MeToo movement, the question comes up about sexual harassment in medicine.

According to a University of Michigan study, many are still running into problems.

Back in 1995, a Michigan study found 52% of female physicians and 5% of male physicians said they were victims of sexual harassment.

The most recent study, a 20 year follow up in 2016, has found 30% of women still answered yes and 4% of men.

Perhaps more concerning, 59% of women perceived a negative effect on confidence in themselves as professionals and 47% said their experience negatively impacted their career advancement.

Clearly more needs to be done and victims need to be encouraged to speak out.
