PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- When the Tall Ships arrive at Penn's Landing on May 24 during an eye-filling parade of sail, a pair of vessels tell unique stories of our local fisheries and of high seas piracy.

Keep an eye out for the A.J. Meerwald (seen in above photo). This schooner rigged work horse is an early icon of a once bustling Delaware Bay oystering industry.

John Brady, who helms the Independence Seaport Museum, points out her rigging is suited for the Bay.

"That rig was primarily so she could maneuver in tight water," Brady explained.

And to relive the fantasy of adventure at sea, we'll see the Lynx, a faithful reproduction of a fast War of 1812 Privateer.

"You could go out, capture the enemies shipping and sell it for profit," Brady said.
