PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new 35,000-square-foot restaurant on Delaware Avenue has something for everyone.

Craft Hall is a restaurant where owner Avram Hornik says people are encouraged to hang out all day.

"We have three distinct areas: We have kind of a playground area where the children can be. Then we have a bar area and we have a dining room area," he explained.

Inside, there's a separate brewery called Mainstay Independent Brewing Company, run by Brian O'Reiley.

"Mainstay is the cable that holds the mast on a ship steady," he said, which explains why there's a giant pirate ship in the playground area of Craft Hall.

There's also a bakery run by Alex Bois called Lost Bread Company.

"The Craft Hall kitchen pulls from the different craft-oriented, food-related businesses that support it like my bakery or Brian's brewery," said Bois.

While the bakery provides bread for pizzas and other menu items, O'Reiley noted they'll soon be expanding their menu.

"We've got a ... but a massive smoker coming in the kitchen," he added. "The hood is in for it and we have an outdoor smoker that we use as well, and so there's definitely going to be a lot of smoked meats."

Craft Hall opened in early March at the former home of Yards Brewing Co. in Northern Liberties.

Hornik said a lot of his inspiration for Craft Hall came out of his seasonal endeavor, Parks on Tap, where he discovered there's a need for more kid-friendly places where families can go out together.

"There's a lot of free, kind of fun games," he said. "A little basketball net and foosball table, but also we have four vintage Nintendo games."
