PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Job seekers got a helping hand Wednesday at the Free Library of Philadelphia.

The library launched its Citizens Bank workplace programming with a career resource fair.

"And we have five other job fairs throughout the city of Philadelphia at various neighborhood libraries," said Gillian Robbins, library coordinator, "and it ends with our nonprofit job fair here back at Parkway Central [Library> on Oct. 24."

She said the career resource fair helps job seekers with the necessary steps before their first interview.

"We have a free headshot photographer, professional photographer who will take your headshot for your LinkedIn profile, and we have two resume reviewers ongoing," she added. "By the time they make it to the job fair, they have a professional resume review, they know what kind of industry they want to work for, and they're ready to rock."

Joshua Godbolt of West Philadelphia feels prepared after attending the career fair, and he's glad the city provides this type of free resource.

"Just to take advantage of free resources that the city is providing and the library is providing that not a lot of people know of but everybody could use."
