MOUNT HOLLY, NJ (KYW Newsradio) — New numbers in the lone New Jersey congressional race not yet decided have shifted the leaderboard, but the battle is still unsettled.

Burlington County has now counted over 24,000 mailed in ballots in the vote for the 3rd Congressional District.

Bottom line? Republican incumbent Tom MacArthur’s 2,500 vote lead has now turned into a 2,500 vote lead for Democrat challenger Andy Kim.

Both Burlington and Ocean Counties will count mailed in votes postmarked by Tuesday that arrive before close of business on Thursday.

There are also a few thousand provisional ballots that could come into play. So this drama could well drag into next week.

Kim’s campaign has declined comment and MacArthur’s people cannot be reached.
