PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two Northeast Philadelphia men have been arrested following a handful of illegal gun exchanges between the pair. And when authorities searched one of those men's homes, more than just weapons were found.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office announced felony charges against 37-year-old Jeffrey Brett and 33-year-old Jerome Bogerty.

Officials said Brett bought 11 semi-automatic handguns at three different Philadelphia gun shops, then passed them on to Bogerty — a convicted felon who isn't legally allowed to possess.

Employees at Locks Gun Shop in Northeast Philadelphia alerted authorities after seeing Brett transfer three of the guns he bought to Bogerty nearby. Agents were then able to track the remaining straw purchases.

Bogerty's home was searched. In addition to another gun — which was loaded — investigators found drugs, body armor and $2,000 in cash.

Both men are being held on $1 million bail each.
