PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Besides having warm clothes and enough to eat and drink, parade watchers need to know where to go, in case they need to “go” at Tuesday's Mummers Parade.

When you're spending hours outside in a crowd, your number one concern is likely -- where's the bathroom?

"Down at CAPA at Carpenter and Broad (Streets), which is one of our performance areas, the school opens up their doors, so there's bathrooms in there," said parade director Leo Dignam.

He says the same goes for the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

There'll also be around 240 porta-potties in Center City and dotting corners along the parade route.

"The biggest area of concentration is at the judging area at 15th and Market (Streets), because that's the most crowded area," he explained.

Dignam says there'll be another 90 along Second Street for the unofficial parade.

Half of the plastic potties are expected to arrive Sunday, with the remainder delivered Monday. But if you're looking to take a sneak peek, think again.

"We zip tie all of them till the morning of," Dignam said.

The free-standing toilets won't be serviced during the parade, so he suggests you bring your own supplies.
