PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Violent storms passing through the region are causing some problems for residents and utility companies.

So far, PECO reported about 21,000 customers without power, with the bulk of those — about 15,000 — in Montgomery County.

Plymouth and Lower Gwynedd are the two hardest-hit towns with 1,900 and 1,700 outages, respectively.

The storm is moving west to east with high winds, and gumball-sized hail has been reported.
