According to charging documents, Kummer was a chaperone on an international school trip with the student earlier this year.

The court documents allege the inappropriate contact with the student began in July. Investigators found nearly 300 messages on the student's computer, including Kummer telling the student he had fallen in love, that they need to "protect their steps," that he always had two emergency tickets to the Caribbean.

The court documents also say, when the student told Kummer police had taken a computer and phone, the teacher responded by saying he felt like he was going to have a heart attack. He asked if the conversations were deleted, said he had two emergency tickets to the Carribean, and said "I want to be on a plane with you."

Kummer is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of child, and institutional sexual assault of a minor.

The school district asks anyone with information which may be relevant to the investigation to contact Abington Police at 877-APD-TIPS.
