Aronimink Golf Club to host 2020 Women's PGA Championship

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It’s good news for local golf fans. The 2020 Women's PGA Championship will be played at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square.

The best women's golfers in the world will descend on Aronimink the fourth week of June next year for the Women's PGA Championship.

Danielle Kang won this tournament back in 2017 when it was played at Olympia Fields, in Illinois, and she says she is looking forward to tackling Aronimink.

"I heard that it's a Donald Ross design and I've had some success on Donald Ross designed golf courses,” she said. “The golf course seems very tricky, it seems long. So knowing PGA of America, I know they're going to set it up really tough. So I'm excited to see what's going to pan out for us."
