Arrest made in hit-and-run death of elderly woman

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run that killed an elderly woman last week in Northeast Philadelphia.

Authorities say 67-year-old Romualda Gulbiniene of Richboro, Bucks County, is charged with accident resulting in death while not properly licensed and related offenses.

Police say she was behind the wheel of an SUV that struck 82-year-old Yulia Sherman as she carried groceries across Bustleton Avenue at Hendrix Street in the city's Somerton neighborhood.

Authorities say Gulbiniene kept going. Sherman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators found the vehicle and were able to track it back to Gulbiniene.
