NORRISTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A 48-year-old man pleaded guilty to taking photos up women’s skirts at the Wegmans in Collegeville.

Scott Rosenmerkel of Sinking Springs pleaded guilty to invasion of privacy and possession of an instrument of crime.

In November 2018, according to charging documents, Upper Providence police were called to Wegmans for a report of a man taking photos or videos of women's private parts.

Wegmans store employees told police they saw Rosenmerkel with his phone propped on the edge of his shopping basket, the holding the basket under the skirts of unsuspecting women.

They caught up to Rosenmerkel at his car, and they say during his interview with investigators he admitted to taking similar photos or videos at the Giant in Royersford.

Rosenmerkel was sentenced to four years of probation and is required to register as sex offender under Megan's Law for 15 years.
