BRIDGEPORT, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A Bridgeport man will stand trial on charges he raped or sexually assaulted five children ages 4 through 12 years old.

“These are horrific crimes the defendant is charged with,” Prosecutor Brianna Ringwood said.

Ringwood says 32-year-old Todd Wilson faces several charges, including rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation into Wilson started when the mother of a 4-year-old saw signs that her daughter might have been raped and took the little girl to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in King of Prussia.

“Doctors immediately examined her and determined her injuries were significant and contacted the local authorities,” Ringwood said.

In addition to the 4-year-old, the investigation found other victims, including a 12-year-old girl and three boys under the age of nine, Ringwood said.

Investigators say Wilson blindfolded the boys and forced them to "perform sex acts on the 12 year-old.”

Wilson is also charged with strangling and assaulting a girlfriend.

According to charging documents, Wilson claims he caught the children having sex and was punishing them.
