Cadets in town as excitement builds for Army-Navy game

December 07, 2018 - 8:36 am

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- The annual Army-Navy game set to get underway Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field, but the competition has already begun. A few cadets from West Point and Annapolis dropped by the KYW Newsradio broadcast center to get it started.

First it was a little relay race here, then it's the Patriot Games at the Art Museum.

Army cadet Ryan Rocca says they look forward to this all year long.

"It's extremely exciting, honestly," he said. "Even at West Point when underclassmen greet upperclassmen, they don't say 'hey how's it going' they say 'hey beat Navy' and we say 'yeah beat em' and we get excited even months out."

Navy cadet Scott Munson says he can't wait to cheer at the top of his lungs.

"And I think the spirit of the game and the reason why it's so important and so famous is the respect and the brotherhood that's behind it," he said.

President Donald Trump is expected to attend the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on CBS.
