CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Need a wedding or a formal dress? Camden County has a few hundred to give away. But there’s a catch.

You have to be a veteran or have a connection to one to sign up for a one-time event on Tuesday at the Camden County Boathouse on Park Drive in Pennsauken.

Freeholder Susan Shinn Angulo says Alfred Angelo Bridal went out of business little more than a year ago.

"They suddenly closed, and lo and behold, who ends up with all the leftover inventory? The real estate company gave it to Camden County, the Office of Veteran Affairs,” she said.

This giveaway is not confined to Camden County residents, but interested brides do have to pre-register to get an appointment time.

"Women can have a personal shopper who will pair them with the right dress at no cost to our veterans, their spouses, brides-to-be, or their daughters," Shinn Angulo added. "But they need to register prior to the event."

And you'll need proof of service or that veteran connection.

Check the Camden County website for more information or to sign up.
