PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Chester County authorities have charged a man with murder after they say he brutally beat his girlfriend to death earlier this month.

Mark Turner, 53, remains in prison on first- and third-degree murder charges after prosecutors say he returned home from a night of drinking and knocked his girlfriend, Rachel Yeager, unconscious and kicked her several times with steel-tip boots.

They say on Nov. 1, Turner walked into the couple's home on Ridge Road in East Pikeland Township, and accused Yeager of cheating on him.

A neighbor heard the fight and called 911.

When police arrived, they found Yeager unconcious on the couch and brought her to the hospital, where she later died.

Turner remains in jail and is due in court next week for his preliminary hearing.
