PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Cirque du Soleil returns to Philly this weekend at the Wells Fargo Center, and they are blending signature Cirque acrobatics with ice skating for the first time.

A large, white structure with ramps and tunnels is set up at center ice for the show, titled "Crystal." Aerialists and trapeze artists will blend their talents with expert skaters for what organizers say is like nothing you've ever seen.

"So we have skaters — extreme skaters, figure skaters — but we also have acrobats. So it's a really beautiful show, unique and different show," explained Frederique Morin with Cirque du Soleil.

They will also be using pop songs in their routines for the first time ever.

"Of course, we have the original music," she added. "But we also have pop songs the audience will recognize and will connect with the show more."

A few women will play the role of Crystal, mainly because it's very physically demanding. One of those women is Lisa Mochituki.

Although she has skated for 27 years, she crammed all of her aerial training into just a few months before this show. She said she loves the feeling of floating in front of the crowd.

"I can't describe it," she said. "It feels super warm inside, and I so appreciate everything."

"Crystal" runs through Sunday.
