PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for a man caught on surveillance video taking a tip jar full of money from a Bustleton restaurant on Christmas night.

Surveillance video shows a man looking at a paper menu at the counter inside the Judah Mediterranean Grille on Krewstown Road. He then grabs a tip jar and conceals it behind the menu and walks out of the restaurant.

Yahali Abitan, who works at the kosher eatery, told CBS3 Eyewitness News the money belonged to the employees working that night.

"To see that everybody was working on the holiday, all of the girls, they put all their heart into it, working hard. And at the end of the night, they were suppose to split it. There was a lot of money in there. There definitely was."

Workers at a neighboring business say the same man was seen there shortly before wondering into the restaurant.

The video has been posted on Facebook, and tips on who the tip jar thief could be are being offered.
