PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) - One of Philadelphia's swankiest events returns January 19 for its 25th year. And if you attend, you'll be helping some animals in need.

It's called Hair O' The Dog, named after the expression that suggests that you can treat your hangover by having another alcoholic drink.

"So because of the close proximity with the New Year, it's how Philadelphia collectively cures its New Year's hangover," explained event director Buffy Harakidas.

With an open bar all night you'll have no problem creating those hangovers at this black-tie bash, at the Crystal Tea Room.

"It's definitely a wild, fun, crazy, exciting experience," said Harakidas. "There's going to be a red carpet and best dressed contest."

Each year the event gives back to a local charity, and the Morris Animal Refuge will be the 2019 beneficiary.

"Being that we're Hair O' The Dog, we thought it would be really awesome to give back to the dogs and the other animals in the community," Harakidas adds.

Rapper T-Pain will headline this year's list of performers. You can find out more information at HairOtheDog.com.
