David Robertson reaches 2-year deal with Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Phillies have added a talented arm to the bullpen.

The Phils have agreed to a two-year deal with veteran right-hander David Robertson. 

He is 33 and was outstanding in 2018 as a set-up man for the New York Yankees. He appeared in 69 games, going 8-3 with five saves and a 3.23 ERA. Opponents hit just .183 against him last season.

Robertson has a career ERA of 2.88 and 137 saves in 11 years in the big leagues. He has appeared in at least 60 games in nine straight seasons.

This deal includes a third-year club option for the 2021 season.
