PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- The deadline to enroll for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act is midnight Saturday. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy is urging anyone who hasn't yet to register immediately.

Governor Murphy acknowledges the Affordable Care Act is not perfect, but he says it's keeping people with pre-existing conditions covered, keeping young adults on their parents' plans and giving seniors unfettered access to health care.

"Based on the numbers we've seen, our numbers are down this year," Murphy said. "We've got to try to turn that around. This is incredibly important. We want to make sure anybody who's out there and wondering about health care knows where to go. The website is getcovered.nj.gov."

On Facebook Live, Governor Murphy said he believes health care is a right and not a privilege.

"The Affordable Care Act is not perfect, but it's a big step in the right direction toward achieving that right," the governor said. "Again, it's really important, folks. You've got to sign up by midnight Saturday."
