MEDIA, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) -- A Delaware County man has been convicted of attacking his roommate with a machete and metal pipe.

Thirty-nine-year-old Sebastian Garro of Lester, Tinicum Township, was also found guilty of endangering the welfare of a child and felony gun crimes.

The attack happened early in the morning in late January 2017.

Police say Garro attacked his roommate with a machete and a metal pipe while he was lying in bed. The roommate suffered severe lacerations to his head, right arm and left ankle.

Garro's 2-year-old daughter was in the home at the time.

Garro told police he was in Norwood when the assault happened.

The Delaware County District Attorney says Garro is an extremely dangerous and violent man, who will remain in prison for a long time.

His sentencing is scheduled February 15.
