PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Delaware County chiropractor is facing charges that he wrote a half-dozen fraudulent prescriptions.

The county district attorney's office says 40-year-old Marc Persson of Swarthmore forged the names of two doctors who had previously worked with him at his chiropractic practice in Ridley when writing prescriptions for six patients last year. Those prescriptions were for painkillers and anti-anxiety pills such as Oxycodone, Xanax, and Gabapentin.

Officers were first called to Perssonal Health Chiropractic in May of 2017, where they spoke with an employee who said Persson was writing fraudulent prescriptions, and some had been flagged as fraudulent by local pharmacies. The DA's office also alleges that Persson would call in some prescriptions while posing as a doctor.

Persson is charged with six counts of delivery and criminal attempt to deliver a controlled substance in addition to forgery and related crimes.
