PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- We're less than a week away from the traditional start to the holiday shopping bonanza. How are you planning to "spend" Black Friday?

If you're like the average person in Deloitte's survey, you'll fork over $1,279 this holiday, with gift cards the top present.

"Followed very closely by clothing, electronics, games and toys," said Bill Park, head of the consulting firm's retail division in the Philadelphia region.

Park says where Philly really excels is in giving.

"What we've seen pretty dramatically for the Philadelphia consumer is they're going to spend a lot more on gifting to third parties than they are on themselves compared to the national averages," he said.

How's the mood when it comes to money?

"We're seeing consumers both in Philadelphia and nationally be very bullish on their financial position and the economy in general," Park said. "So that should translate into a very happy holiday season."

Likely more for online retailers than physical stores, with the survey showing three out of every five shoppers clicking or tapping their way to deals.
