PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It's Super Bowl Sunday.

Whether the Eagles are playing or not, it's still a day to party for many.

In the back of Cannuli's in the heart of the Italian Market, butchers slice massive slabs of meat. Out front, they season the beef and package it for party hosts.

The shop's owner, Charlie Cannuli, says Super Bowl weekend is one of their busiest, if not the busiest time of the year.

"Football's taking over. Even the people who are not interested in football, they still go to parties and still have a good time. There's always some kind of excitement," Cannuli said.

Ribs, sausage, wings - he says customers want it all for the game.

Most Philadelphians are pretty disappointed the Birds aren't in the big game this year, and Joel Becker is no expectation.

"It's a lot more boring, a lot less exciting," Becker said.

He was stocking up at Cannuli's, and said he was "just picking up some chicken wings and bacon for the hangover the next day."

"It's like night and day. I mean, last year it was just a buzz, everybody who came in talked about it," Cannuli told KYW Newsradio.

With that being said, "It's still Super Bowl, it's a national holiday," Cannuli added.
