East Oak Lane shooting leaves 2 dead

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating a double homicide in the East Oak Lane section of the city Thursday night. 

Police say just after 7:30 p.m., gun fire rang out hitting two men in their twenties.

The shooting happened at 68th Avenue and Old York Road.

Police say while in the back seat of a car, a man opened fire on the driver and another man in the passenger seat. 

One man was shot almost 20 times while the other was shot six times. 

The victims were then taken to Einstein Medical Center where, soon after, both men died from their injuries.  

No one is in custody and no weapons have been recovered.
