PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — After officials from the two health care giants signed on the line, Einstein Healthcare Network and Jefferson Health were engaged.

Jefferson CEO Dr. Steve Klasko said, "Please do not look at this as just a merger. This is a true investment in the past, present, and future of Philadelphia."

Einstein CEO Barry Freedman says both organizations share the same core values which makes it a perfect partnership.

"We are waiting for the final marriage. It won't be a rabbi, minister or priest. This time it will be the Attorney General and the FTC, but we look forward to them blessing this union," Freedman said.

No word on how long regulators might take to approve, and so far no name has been decided.
