YARDLEY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Friends and family gathered at a Yardley funeral home on Friday to say their final goodbyes to 7-year-old Kayden Mancuso, the girl killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Manayunk earlier this week.

"She was like a free spirit, a running free spirit, a little angel," said close family friend Jen Sherlock.

Police say Mancuso was killed by her father, Jeff Mancuso, amid a "contentious custody battle."

Through tears, Kayden's aunt, Heather Giglio, said she remembered her niece as a spunky kid who lit up the lives of everyone she met.

"I just remember her being the light of the world," Giglio said. "I guess the world just got a little darker without her."

Giglio's young son said, "I'm gonna miss how nice she was. Me and her always had fun. I'm just gonna miss her so much."

Sherlock said everyone was robbed of a future with the woman she imagined Kayden would have grown up to be.
"It's sad, because we were robbed of so much. Like, if I ever get married, she's not going to be there," Sherlock said.

Kayden's godfather, Mathew Moffett, said she was one of a kind. He said it may be a long road, but the family will fight through the grief together.

"There's always going to be a part that is missing, but hopefully together we can heal."
