PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Adding to the reimagined Fashion District along Market Street East is Round One, an arcade and entertainment company.

Developers are also squeezing a handful of mom and pop local shops into the former Gallery mall.

Center City's new mall will offer traditional retail outlets, shopping and dining, and the third floor will be all entertainment, all the time.

Joining the already announced eight-screen multiplex AMC Theatres will be Round One, featuring 60,000-square-feet of arcade games, billiards, bowling, a kids zone, pingpong and food and drinks.

Along the concourse will be what developers call “Uniquely Philly” attractions, expanding opportunities for local businesses, like North Philadelphia-based storefronts Duafe Hair Salon and The Sable Collective - both on 22nd Street, near Allegheny Avenue - to capitalize on the foot traffic generated there.

Co-owner Shanti Mayers says the African-American owned boutiques offer holistic hair care, clothing, jewelry, home decor and artwork.

"There are all of these major brands coming in that are basic giants, and we're coming in as the little dog," she said.

She recalls there were 800 applicants for four spots.

Their store will occupy about 700-square-feet to 900-square-feet.

The Fashion District is set to open this fall, covering 800,000-square-feet over three blocks, from 8th to 11th streets.
