PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There was a partial rowhome collapse Monday in East Mount Airy at a small intersection where a flatbed truck drove into its living room.

Neighbors say a flatbed truck was traveling on Pleasant Street and to avoid a car on Musgrave Street, the truck driver apparently lost control and smacked into a nearby two-story brick rowhome on the corner.

The truck driver had the right of way as he had no stop sign. The car did.

The truck driver went right through the front door and the truck slammed halfway into the first floor of the living room of the corner building.

Neighbors say a woman got her adult-age son out of the house before there was a partial collapse.

After first responders determined everyone got out okay, the Department of Licenses and Inspections surveyed the damage, and L&I determined that the bearing wall took a major hit, and that the corner rowhome property would have to be demolished.

L&I determined on scene it was to dangerous to fix.
