PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former Radnor Township commissioner has pleaded guilty to federal charges involving images of child sexual abuse.

Philip Ahr faces up to 60 years in prison when he's sentenced in May for possessing, sending, and receiving pictures and videos showing the sexual abuse of kids.

What the 68-year-old who used chat room names like "Daddy XX" now admits to was outlined in court by Judge Michael Baylson.

"These all arise from your trafficking in child pornography over at least five years over the internet and your collection of thousands of images of the sexual abuse of children, is that correct?" Baylson asked Ahr.

"Yes, your honor," Ahr responded.

Ahr resigned from the Radnor Board of Commissioners in late 2017 after charges were filed.

He's being held in federal detention in Center City ahead of his May 23 sentencing date.

The mandatory minimum sentence is five years.
