PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Tech site Mashable launched Social Media Day in 2010 as a way to recognize and celebrate social media's impact on global communication.

Although Social Media Day is technically June 30th -- Slice Communications is hosting the celebration of all things social on June 28 at the National Museum of American Jewish History.

"We're really excited because we're bringing 500 people together to talk about the impact of social media, what it can have on their brand, and what it can do from an earned media perspective," said Shannon Reynolds, Director of Client Services.

"It's our 4th year hosting Social Media Day here in Philadelphia so we've taken our learning's and we've designed very specific tracks that meet our audience and those who have attend in the past in a way that helps them learn and experience social media day in a new and different way. We're doing these hands on sessions like with Instagram so that people can bring their laptops, they can bring their smartphones and do true social media activities while they're there attending the event."

As well as Flash Talks

"Our guest speakers will have 14 minutes or less to give you a really cool, key nugget of information pertaining to trends in social media," she said.

And panels with featured speakers from Linkedin and Twitter

"We've got an amazing keynote speaker Ashley Sasnett from Porsche,” Reynolds said. “Ashley is very passionate about social media within her company and she is going to be speaking about why social media is the best job in any company. Which I think is certainly true and will be a very dynamic presentation."
